Our goal is to consistently exceed expectations through attention to detail, clear communication, and dependable follow-through.
Kelly Fort
Kelly was born in Lovington, New Mexico, and moved to Las Cruces in 1998. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and began his professional career in engineering soon after.

Kelly spent ten years working for a local civil engineering firm, where he developed extensive technical expertise and earned his Professional Engineer (PE) licenses in both environmental and civil engineering.
In 2013, Kelly transitioned into the homebuilding industry when he accepted the position of Director of Operations for one of Las Cruces’ most prolific custom home builders. During this time, he gained significant experience in custom home construction and project management. In 2017, he also obtained his New Mexico real estate license and currently works with a local real estate brokerage.

In 2018, Kelly partnered with his longtime friend to launch The Fort Construction LLC. Today, he brings together his engineering background, real estate knowledge, and extensive custom homebuilding experience to help clients successfully design and build high-quality custom homes.

Mat Dynek
Mat Dynek is the co-owner of The Fort Construction LLC and a Las Cruces native with more than 19 years of experience in the construction industry. His background includes residential homebuilding, commercial construction, and construction management, with a strong focus on building performance and durability.
Mat currently serves as Director of Physical Plant for Las Cruces Public Schools, where he oversees facilities operations and maintenance for the district. His experience in large-scale facility management provides a practical perspective on construction quality, long-term durability, and maintainability. His technical expertise includes insulation systems, roofing, and construction management.

In addition to new construction, Mat has extensive experience in both residential and commercial renovation and maintenance. This background helps guide The Fort Construction LLC’s commitment to building homes that are efficient, durable, and designed for long-term performance.

Outside of work, Mat enjoys home design and architecture, playing guitar and drums, and spending time with his dog, Gracie.
